Taoyuan Mayor Zhang Shanzheng presided over a municipal meeting this afternoon (7th) and listened to the Transportation Bureau’s special report on the “Taoyuan Public Bicycle 2.0 System Removal and New Establishment Master Plan” and said that the promotion of YouBike public bicycles has brought convenience to citizens’ lives. This is a very touching policy. Although Taoyuan introduced the YouBike 2.0 system later, the city's demolition progress is in sync with New Taipei City. The old 1.0 system is expected to be completely phased out in October this year (113). Thanks to the efforts of the Transportation Bureau, in the future In addition to continuing to build new stations, it is also necessary to collect usage data and flexibly adjust various response measures.
Mayor Zhang also mentioned that YouBike 2.0E electric auxiliary vehicles have great potential in connecting various scenic spots in Taoyuan, allowing riders to save time and effort, and can more easily control roads with steep slopes. In the future, the Transportation Bureau and the Tourism Bureau are requested to cooperate with each other to increase the popularity of YouBike at various tourist nodes in Taoyuan.
Taoyuan began to process the dual-system conversion operation in November last year (2012), and has successively launched the new YouBike 2.0 system service in different zones. Currently, there are 417 public bicycle parks in Taoyuan City, and all of them completed the first phase of conversion on January 19 this year. The operation adopts a "dual system" operation model to make it more convenient for citizens and friends to rent in the early stage of transfer. In addition, on February 1 this year, the city government also took the lead in launching the YouBike 2.0E electric vehicle model service in the Beitao Living Circle, allowing people to choose a more suitable model based on their own needs.
Regarding the YouBike 2.0 new system, which has been online for more than a month, Zhang Xinfu, director of transportation, said that the public has received good acceptance of the 2.0 system, and the turnover rate of each vehicle is about 5 to 6 times a day, which is higher than that of the 1.0 system, which is about 2 to 2.5 times per vehicle per day. Surprisingly, each YouBike 2.0E electric vehicle is used 7 to 10 times a day, showing that people’s willingness to use it is quite high.
Director Zhang further pointed out that there are currently a total of 10,645 YouBikes in service in Taoyuan City. Popular stations such as Taoyuan Railway Station, Zhongli Railway Station and around schools often have problems with lack of bicycles and seats due to limited space. Currently, they have been Increase spare vehicles and strengthen dispatch. Popular stations will adopt the "parking point" method for people and vehicles during peak hours to replenish vehicles or vacate parking spaces at any time. At the same time, manufacturers are also asked to develop an active notification system to monitor the city's top 50 stations for vehicle shortages and parking shortages. The absence situation can be used as a reference for subsequent site planning.
Director Zhang said that the conditions for setting up stations in the new system are relatively flexible. The Transportation Bureau will continue to properly plan and set up public bicycle parking stations in various areas of the city, expand the public bicycle service network, so that the public can enjoy more convenient and friendly rental services, and this year it will With the goal of adding 100 YouBike stations, it is expected to complete the city's goal of 750 public bicycle stations in 2028.
