Making Taoyuan Better!Mayor Chang: The city government team will make every effort to make Taoyuan a safe, livable new city with equal emphasis on economy and culture
The 3rd Taoyuan Mayor and Commissioners Inauguration Ceremony was held in the B2 Assembly Hall of the City Government Building on the morning of December 25th by Taoyuan City Government, with Minister of Digital Affairs Audrey Tang supervising the transition of authority. Mayor Chang San-Cheng said that he will make every effort with the Taoyuan City Government team to repay the faith of citizens with the best government performance; the city government team must see the needs of citizens and solve their problems and also, upholding the spirit of rule of law, actively promote benefits and eliminate advantages to make Taoyuan a safe, livable new city with equal emphasis on economy and culture. He emphasized that after the new team takes office today, Taoyuan City’s municipal administration will continually make progress. He expressed the hope that all citizens keep cheering for the Taoyuan team to make Taoyuan a different city.
Mayor Chang thanked citizens for supporting his vision of the development of Taoyuan during the election and for giving him the opportunity to take the important responsibility of being the mayor and said he will make every effort with the Taoyuan City Government team to repay the faith of citizens with the best government performance. He said that the future vision for Taoyuan will continue to be moved towards on the foundation of the achievements of previous mayors. He also thanked former mayor Cheng Wen-Tsan for urging the city government team to offer full cooperation in the handover process, allowing it to proceed smoothly. With the efforts of both sides, the progress of Taoyuan was not delayed or halted by the handover.
Mayor Chang mentioned that Taoyuan’s progress needs harmony between the city Government and City Council. He expressed the hope that regardless of parties, councilors can work together for Taoyuan’s future and he believed that, if there is harmony and political stances are set aside, Taoyuan will progress as anticipated by all citizens. Recently, as well as handling handover work, he said he has been busy assembling a professional and ethical city government team. After much effort, a city government team made up of outstanding professionals with achievements in their own fields has been formed. He hopes to see them cooperate seamlessly to bring in the maximum power to serve the citizens and he also hopes that everyone support the city government team and be its strongest backup.
At the same time, Mayor Chang exhorted the city government team to always modify and optimize with a humble attitude and become the best team to live up to the expectations of citizens. He pointed out that he has four expectations for the team which he will work with, namely, professionalism, passion, efficiency and ethics. In the future, the city government team must carry out these four principles into practice. Also, in the future, not only tangible construction is promoted in Taoyuan, all city management and public services also must keep upgrading; the city government team must see the needs of citizens and solve their problems and also, upholding the spirit of rule of law, actively promote benefits and elimintate advantages to make Taoyuan a safe, livable new city with equal emphasis on economy and culture.
Mayor Chang pointed out that after officially taking office, he will soon implement various policies. In terms of public construction safety which many citizens are concerned about, he will immediately form a Public Construction Project Health Check Committee to thoroughly review public project quality with a fair and professional attitude to make sure citizens can use public contructions without worries. Also, with respect to important construction projects such as the MRT and aerotropolis, a progress supervision mechanism will be established to make construnction progress transparent and make sure the progress meet public expectation. As for the 1280 monthly ticket that many commuters are concerned about, he will immediately coordinate with the central government and promote the ticket together with Taipei, New Taipei and Keelung cities, aiming to benefit the almost 10 million people in Taipei, New Taipei, Keelung and Taoyuan cities.
Finally, Mayor Chang thanked citizens of Taoyuan for giving him the great responsibility to construct Taoyuan City. He said that he and the city government team will repay this faith by giving people the best quality of municipal administration and the expectations and supervision will be positive forces for promoting government performance. He emphasized that Taoyuan municipal administration will continually progress from today and he expressed the hope that all citizens keep cheering for Taoyuan team to make Taoyuan a different place.
Outgoing Mayor Cheng Wen-Tsan congratulated Mayor Chang for winning the trust and faith of citizens and becoming the 3rd Taoyuan City Mayor. As Taoyuan now standing at a new starting point, he said that he believes Taoyuan will have more developments. He expressed his sincere blessing for Taoyuan to become a better city under Mayor Chang’s leadership.
After the inauguration ceremony, Mayor Chang went straight to the Mayor’s Office to review two documents about personnel order officially and then went to attend the inauguration of new Taoyuan City councilors and give his respects.
